Sweet Home - 22.07. 2018

I've never had a home, or a room to call mine 

Had only a blue chamber, with a view to the sky
That soothed my mind in the sleepless nights
Counting all stars, their light would suffice. . .
To live in a world with no justice, just ice.

It's all dusted up now, conglomerates of boxes
Souls crammed up, breathing toxic noxes
Useless remnants of the old distant past
I have to move on, to escape fate at last.

Married to alcohol, every sorrow getting drowned...
Empty bottles of beer, stench floating around
I throw all of them, but she keeps wanting more
It's never enough now, only a pain not paid for.

Dad too, doesn't get it, he quit long ago
Stubborn, impassive, only feeding his ego
Hardened by life, uncaring of her,
Driving aimlessly, forgetting how happy we all were.

And then there is he, whom I'm gravitating toward
My pillar of hope, in a grey, doomed world
He's broken inside too, but does not want me to see
Standing up brave, helping me breathe
Healing my wounds, warming my frosted heart
A doctor of soul and mind alike, holding my hand
Until we'll together from this world will depart,
A fresh start, my sweetheart counterpart.
